Both were lifelong hunters and skilled with a bow. It's been stored carefully ever since and deserves to be owned by someone who can appreciate its quality and history. It's a great example of Made in America, so here's a bit of history. Made in Grayling, Michigan in the 1950s-60s, the Bear Archery Cub was Bear's early "Glass-Powered" design pioneered by Fred Bear himself.
The lettering and serials like "R TW-356" on this one were hand-written in ink before the final clear coat. Each bow was individually built and finished by hand. Made with laminated maple and fiberglass, glued under pressure in custom jigs. After curing, the bows were hand-sanded, stained, polished, and inspected. The leather grip wraps were cut and stitched by hand. Serial / Production Code : R TW-356 (hand-inscribed). Grip : Brown leather wrap over wood riser. This bow has been carefully stored for many years, and I'd bet it still works great. But if you choose to use it, be sure to have it inspected by a shop professional for safety's sake.
