Black Widows Serial Number Data Web Site list this bow being made in 1967. It is no doubt the fastest bow in FPS I have shot and/or owned in my 70 years as a Traditional Target & Hunting Archer. Unfortunately, I have not chrono-graphed it, but, I have chrono-graphed many others I own.
I have owned this bow since 1987, Also had one just like it in 1967. I have only shot it a few times. Always stored in the house in a hall wall out of the sun. Never stored in the sun in a car.
It may hold the World Record for a Factory Made Bow Flight Distance. I shot it in the Traditional Archers of Oregon Golf Shoot in the late 80s at the Sand Dunes in Florence Oregon. I made & installed a tape on Flight Shelf out of a "Hylex" bottle the night before the shoot. Also made a "Harry Drake" style Flight Strap out of narrow Nylon strap. Arrows were Easton XX75 2013 - 29-3/4" long with Max Hamilton P-25 vanes & Mid knocks from the 60s & Easton X-7 1713 - 20" long.
Never found 1st arrow at 1st target went too far. Two record shots: 1 - 750 yards with no tail wind close to the Golf Target about 75 yards away, 1 shot - 570 yards into a 40 mph + head wind landing within 1 - foot of Golf target. Witnesses & shooting group included well known Traditional Archers friends, Dave Doren of "Archery Past" (now deceased) & Dennis Camstraw regular Trad. Archery magazine contributor now living in Africa. At that time Dennis owned one of Harry Drakes World Flight Record Bows and offered it to me. If I were to go Polar Bear, Grizzly Bear, Lion, Tiger or Water Buffalo hunting this would be the bow to get the job done with confidence. I will list more Premium Collector Bows, Arrow & Quivers etc.The item "Recurve Bow, Black Widow, Brazilian Rosewood, 60 inches, 55 Lbs at 26 inches, +" is in sale since Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
