Refurbished Vintage Fred Bear Archery Grizzly Recurve Bow 58 45# RH Green
This is a Bear Grizzly recurve 58 45# right hand bow in great shape. This bow has been refurbished and is ready to shoot. When I got it it had the normal cosmetic wear of a nearly 50 year old bow but was in otherwise great physical shape.
The front bushing adapter had some rust which was removed and subsequently repaintedsee photos for details. The bow itself was buffed to remove old markings and bring the shine back, and a new Bear plate and rest were installed to bring it back to it's original look. The string is new and it has yarn silencers. There are no cracks, delaminations, or any such damage and the limbs are straight.It has minor nicks/scratches/scuffs as most any bow would, and I only mention this in full disclosure, not because they're at all noticeable. For perspective, the biggest would be next to the bushing and can be seen in the photo.
Anything else has to be looked hard for. This is really a nice bow and I don't think anyone would find fault with it as a great looker and shooter. I'm simply thinning out my small collection and this is too similar to my 1965 Kodiak to warrant keeping them both. For what it's worth, I believe this is an early'70s model, possibly 1973 if I remember the research I did on it, but these are harder to date than other years/models so take that with a grain of salt. The limbs are a deep brown and the riser has some black to it.
It's a striking combination unlike most of what you can find today. This is a great shooting bow with lots of charm, I don't think you'll be disappointed in it.
